Product Description Mediabridge Toslink Cables The Toslink optical audio connection carries a digital audio stream using a fiber-optic cable. This Mediabridge Toslink Cable is perfect for whenever you need to connect audio devices, such as a CD or DVD players to a receiver or preamplifier.
In home-theater applications, you can use the Toslink connection to send a Dolby Digital or DTS soundtrack to an audio processor or A/V receiver for surround-sound decoding.
Since Toslink uses fiber-optic cable, it is free from distortion caused by electrical or magnetic interference that an electrical cable would incur. The result is an audio signal that is purer, as well as truer to the original recording.
Quality Construction This Mediabridge cable features a durable, PVC outer layer, and a durable buffer tubing that resists corrosion and offers optimal signal transfer.
Limited Lifetime Warranty This Mediabridge cable is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. If you should need assistance with your Mediabridge cable, contact our customer service department between 8am and 5pm Eastern.

Be careful September 4, 2010 Spacepope 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When buying this cable I wasn't aware that the connectors for these cables come in different sizes. The end result of this is that this cable does not lock in to my xbox 360's optical input. However, it DOES lock in to other devices I have. Basically buyer beware, I used a little duct tape to secure the cable into the 360's input so it works alright as long as it isn't moved too much, but it's a rather inconvenient and barbaric fix to a problem that shouldn't exist. Other than that the cable is fine, length is as advertised and quality is the same as all my other cables of this type.
Cheap and it Works August 27, 2010 G. Mesick (Federal Way, WA United States) Cheapest solution I could find, and it works. As Matt S. recently pointed out, you may have trouble pushing this into a Roku box toslink port, but I found it's the Roku port that has too much give, not the cable that has too much plastic. Unplug your Roku, brace it through a vent hole with a small screwdriver so you can push against it without the port moving, and you're there. For my A/V receiver, no such issue. It went in just fine.
Looks, smells, acts like an optical audio cable. July 27, 2010 David M. Robbins (Sherman Oaks, CA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is an optical audio cable. With digital signals, either the cable works or it doesn't work, and this one certainly works. So don't go paying $50 or $100 for some Monster BS... this will satisfy everything you require.
And for those who are wondering, optical audio or HDMI are the only ways to send a surround-sound signal from one home theater device to another. Component uses RCA for audio (the Red, White, Yellow plugs) which are only stereo.
Bad cable July 24, 2010 cheathco 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This cable is no good, end is mfg to short, wont lock into unit at either end, falls out. I suspect reviewers who like it, don't realize they could fall out any time.
Works as advertised July 16, 2010 Matthew J. Schroeder 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are simple cables that work. I bought three. All were the right length. All worked.
The only issue I had is that the grip area is a little thicker than most other Toslink cables I've seen, so when I initially tried to connect to my Roku HD-XR (there is an abnormally small amount of free space around the port on this box), I could not push the cable in far enough to get it to lock in place. Eventually, I tried an existing cable I had in my set-up, got that to lock and then re-tried this cable and was able to lock it into place without further issue. Apparently, there was a combined issue with the virgin port and the lack of open space around it.
Final word: The cable works, it's a good deal.
